Vanity swelling after water damage

This picture is of the side of a vanity in a bathroom that had some water damage. The side was made of particle board so you can see what happens when it gets wet. The particle board began to swell by the time we arrived. This vanity was not able to be saved due to the amount of swelling that occurred to this wood.
